I will eat my Rover with a fork and spoon before I step foot back in that place to talk to those d!cks. My FOUR experiences there were all VERY negative. If you aren't there to buy or lease they don't want to talk to you. That's the bottom line. Rover enthusiasts? Yeah, right! I think not. Those guys don't want to talk to you about Rovers... they want to primp their toupee's and drink coffee. It's pretty sad when there's not a SOUL in there and still they treat you like that. My favorite story is asking the guy behind the sales counter about an exhaust manifold gasket and I saw him (secretly) whip out the Rover North number so that he could quote me an even MORE marked up price... then he suggested I buy a new engine- to the tune of $9,500. (plus labor of course) Anyway, I feel your resentment towards dealerships. Although my pool of engine/Rover knowledge is somewhat limited, I am more prepared to make 'rookie mistakes' screwing up an 'easy' job, than to give it to the dealership letting their 18 year old 'techs' bang on it. I am eager to learn about my Rover... those guys don't care and want to rip through as many as they can daily (cutting corners) so they can get off at 4:30pm. I'll get off my soapbox now. Take Care, |
