(Autobox) Shifter froze in drive position. Was finally able with much force to coax it back into Park. Key now stuck in ignition. Won't go to "0" position.
Pulled shifter handle and noticed release button holddown was off. Replaced it. Shifter still frozen in P. Release button not functioning. Finally after many attempts and a bit of force, release button engaged. Shifter operation is as normal, but key is still stuck.

What's the connection between the shifter position and the ignition key release ?

I heard mention of a park-lockout switch. Could this be damaged or do we have a faulty ignition switch ? I'm planning to remove the console and lube the shifter assembly since it still seems stiff.

I will take to LR dealer only after I give in...;-)
