I have (had) a 94 Disco, I just got a 98. I had minor problems with leaking seals and balky sunroofs. These were all taken care of under warranty (new warranty is 4 years, 50K miles). I had no electrical problems. I must say, purchasing the 94 was the nicest experience in 20 years of car buying (The 98 was just as good.)
I have seen postings relating to corrosion problems; living in Arizona, this is not something I have to deal with.
The major difference between D110 and D90 is 30" longer wheelbase and 2 more doors. I believe that only 500 D110s were imported to the US, so the price is usually quite steep.
The Disco has a 100" wheelbase, so it's longer than the D90. It is quieter, roomier -- much nicer around town, especially if you have a family. The D90 comes with larger tires and shorter overhangs, so it is less likely to get hung up in extreem off-road situations. Other than minor steering linkage changes, the chassis of the D90 is identical to that of the Disco. It can fit larger tires than the Disco without sheet metal modifications.
I modified my Disco with larger tires, 1.5" lift, ARB airlockers, onboard air system, and rock sliders to protect the rocker panels. It has been very capable on the rocky trails of Arizona.
I chose another Disco over the D90.
