Highway handling in my '96 RR4.0

Posted by jackson1 on November 13, 2000 at 10:43:27:

I recently purchased a 96 RR4.0 SE. It is the first Range Rover I have owned. It runs great, only has 30K miles. The one thing that I am not crazy about is how it handles on the highway. It pulls into ruts in the road worse than any vehicle I have ever owned.

I had my mechanic drive the car and he says that it is typical of Range Rovers. There must be something I can do. I am wondering if I was to replace the steering dampener with a more heavy duty dampener, if this would improve. Any suggestions here in how I can make my RR more stable during highway driving would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mike
