Hi,

There are three posiible different units that are avilable in the disco, these are:
1) very basic - head unit and a speaker in each of the front doors.

2 Basic- head unit and 6 speakers, front and rear door speakers and tweeters in A pillars.

3) hi fi or branded system - head unit into seperate amplifier for the several speakers around the car. sub woofer in rear door with a dedicated amplifier, and a possibly a CD player.

The very basic system has been dropped I belive, so you would have to be very unlucky to get one of these!

The other two are still going.

There are two main manufacturers making these systems.
Philips and Harman Becker automotive.

Be aware that if you get a Hi Fi / branded system such as the Harmon Kardon and probably Philips lea system, it will have active EQ in the amplifier for the specific speakers, which will more than likely be low impedance. If you start adding after market speakers you may well bugger up the system quality. The speakers used in the branded systems
are generally of good quality anyway, so you shouldn't really have to change them.

Hope this information is useful.

Cheers

Rob
