I have had a set of Polybushes on my '93 Discovery for the past 60,000 miles.
They made a difference to the on road stability - I don't have an anti-roll kit and the handling with standard bushes when braking or changing direction in a hurry was frightening. This was much better with the harder bushes, but the downside was the much harsher steering, especially the vibration that was felt back through to the steering wheel at some speeds.
I am told by some of the boys that compete with Range Rovers that the standard bushes are better for really hard work because of the way they cushion out shock loads better than the harder plastic bushes.
