This is a response to Dave(UK) I agree there should not be a problem with this replacement part. About accessories, I have added an electric brake controller to the truck for a travel trailer (caravan) that I own. I have not had a problem with this unit. It is bacically not in the circuit unless the hook-up is complete. The unit feeds directly from the battery terminal via a relay. Anyway, there is currently a disagreement with the dealer and the warranty company. Not only did I loose the last alternator within 30 miles of the install, I now have a flat battery, and it appears that the starter has failed as well. You are very right, I need to sort this out. I have only 4k left on the warranty. 96k on the truck. It has been pretty good from a repair point. The usual problems with the 3.9 v8i. I will say that of all the vehicles I have owned (quite a few) the truck is a high maintenance vehicle. I could understand having problems if I abused it. I don't, my only fault is I don't have a garage for stroage. Kinda a love and hate relationship. I would love a new series II but the trade values are poor. Selling it outright will be my only salvation. Rich
