A friend of mine has put the 2.5D in a ligthweigth(SIII). He had to
make new engine-mounts because otherwise the engine touched the chassis (near the dieselpump I think).So you just have to lift the engine a bit! He used the SIII clutch and gearbox.
The 2.5D NA is a good engine and I think the conversion is a good idea!
