Drive Train Rumble/Exhaust Ticking Posted by morgan on May 26, 1998 at 16:57:19: My 94 D90, which to date has exhibited no bad manners, has recently begun to "rumble" in the drive train area (it seems) when I am slowing down (in gear and in neutral) at EXACTLY 50 mph, each and every time. I can feel and hear the vibrations. There are no other symptoms of transmission wear or tear in any other regime. I use Redline synthetics and have the newer 5 speed transmission. Any advice is appreciated, Also, I noticed a ticking sound in the exhaust system at idle. I traced the sound to the upper right hand "box" on the exhaust system...I am not sure what the function of the "box" is, and whether or not I can replace the offensive part without replacing the entire exhaust assembly. I ask this because the warranty on the truck ran out in March! Again, any advice or solace is appreciated. Morgan
