Engine performance with snorkel. Diesels in general no problem, check raised air intake to be of sufficient capacity, using genuine LR no problem, using other make I may recommend considering MacDonald (please check correct spelling), I mean the same make which Caterpillar is using as OEM, if going abroad, make sure you use a model which is in the Caterpillar catalogue, this will provide world wide support via Caterpillar. 200Tdi & 300Tdi diesel fuel injection pump fuel injection is compensated for air pressure in inlet duct, so here no trouble to be expected, lower air press. will be compensated. I don't know if the 2.5 Turbo Diesel features air press. compensation on the pump. Check point after deep fording may be to ensure intercooler is dry, incident has been reported of sucking in water, only to suddenly appear again in the inlet duct at full engine performance on steep hill up, result was devastating. Petrol raised air intake may be tricky, depends on speed. Air fuel ratio changes differently than using under bonnet filter. Using LPG as fuel is additionally tricky, LPG (propane-butane gas mix) does not cool combustion chamber, raised air intake is generally resulting in poorer mixture at higher road speeds.
