Snorkel - does it help or ...

Posted by Etienne Farrugia on May 22, 1998 at 07:11:49:

I am considering installing a snorkel in my 1990 LR 90 (Turbo Diesle Engine). I know this would help in deep wadding when offroad, but I am not sure if this will restrain the air flow into my Turbo because of the longer way the air has to travel before getting in the engine.

I had removed the standard air cleaner and fitted a K&N air cleaner, which I found out gives better performance - will I loose this improvement with the snorkel even if I use my K&N as a filter.

Besides the offroad aspect, I would also like installing the raised intake because the air going in the engine would be cooler and therefore denser, and this makes a great difference in my country as our summer it's tremendously hot (38 - 43 deg celcius)

I appreciate any suggestions or comments

Etienne
