Well, not all 1998 Discoverys are perfect. I have, alas, had to have the
transfer case replaced on mine around 3K miles, due to vibrations and whining
noises.

Front passenger seat, driver's seat, sunroofs, right-rear and rear doors all misadjusted.

Everything fixed by dealer with NO hesitation whatsoever.

Do I like the vehicle? YES! (Bias: This is my sixth Land Rover product, starting with a
Series II in 1960, so perhaps I just don't know any better?)

Had a nice journey last Saturday, for example, on what's left of a fire protection road
on a national forest. Discovery made easy and comfortable work of the missing parts of the "road,"
then gave a nice ride home on an Interstate highway--all in all, a good
combination.
