Land Rover Group does not have transferable corrosion warranty(So they are trying to say). If your vehicle, like mine is under six years old (1993 registered), and you did not buy it from new, they are trying to say that the warranty is invalid- even when, in my case, the corrosion is from the inside - out. Corrosion bleeding through the seams, outer doors, wheel arches, inner door skins, and a reaction to the original paintwork ( Bubbling) and the aluminium. Be warned If you look at the UK new Discovery literature, there is no mention of corrosion warranty. I currently am having a disscussion with Landrover as I felt this was misleading. A vehicle should not be rusting under five years old, and with a full Landrover service history, landrover should uphold warrantys. I was amazed to see that so many of you have had this problem and there was in fact a lawsuit against Landrover over this problem. My Local dealership in Wales has for their part been very helpful and urged me to try and pursue my case . In the end, all I want is my beloved vehicle in an acceptable condition for the price that was paid for it and the continued expense of dealership servicing. I am a loyal Landrover devotee, but after the problems that now seem to be occuring, I am begining to think otherwise. Please let me know of any more corrosion problems any of you have suffered.I feel, that if you can transfer mechanical warrantys between owners, corrosion warranties should also be transferable. Look forward to hearing from you - |
