Preventative maintenance

Posted by Phiver on August 03, 2000 at 14:59:47:

I just acquired my Rover from my parts supplier and it runs great. The engine was rebuilt by our host a few years ago. The frame does have surface rust and so i decided to treat the chassis as best i could with Extend rust treatment (by brush painting it on). I just finished prepping it and will be ready to put it back together soon.

I have a general working knowledge of my 68 IIA 88. I have the grease stained green bible and I am not afraid to get in there and muck about. But since I have this vehicle apart should I be looking for any future problems and should I go ahead and change gaskets, clean etc. now?

If anyone has any suggestions on what i should look for or go ahead with please let me know.

I have everything taken off the vehicle except for bulkhead, bed, engine and transmission.

Thanks again everyone.
