If you do not know the history of you Disco it is safe to have the inspection done. The most important things may be done by yourself. Change: engine oil, engine oil filter, oil into transfer box, axles (front and rear) and swivels, air filter, spark plugs, ignition leads, distributor cap and distributor rotor arm; clean/change both breather filters, clean axle/tranny breathers, ignition coil, ignition modulator, "ground" leads. Check for wear/tension and/or replace drive belts. Check level/refill oil into automatic gearbox, steering, brake and cooling systems (Check for leak and crack). Have them (fluids and hoses) changed if you can not yourself. Check the brake pads (replace if necessary) and discs for wear. Check the drive shafts joits and splines for wear (Grease them), Check both steering joints for wear and grease them. Retorque suspension nuts and shock absorbers as well. It will take you one day if you do everything. Than drive and check if there is no knocking coming from suspension.
If you can not do anything yourself or if you do not want to inspect your car yourself have it done by mechanic.
Remember! Your Landy will care you as you care her.
Heappy Rovering!
