Range Rover Rumors?

Howdy, I'm looking forward to test driving the '89 Range Rover that
my brother mentioned 3 posts back. But I have some concerns, and ya'll seem like the lot to ask. I have heard rumor that Range Rovers require large quantities
of tender loving care. Maintenance, to be precise. I'm a wee bit concerned that I might be buying a very...um...
expensive toy? I'd like some feedback concerning this topic. How expensive is the standard upkeep, and how frequently should
certain things be given attention? Change the oil every 2k miles?
Flush the radiator if the sky looks gray? Please, I need some help
