| PARABOLIC LEAF SPRINGS ON REAR ONLY - ANY EXPERIENCE? Posted by NIGEL OATES on July 11, 2000 at 14:00:52: I have a SWB Series 2. A previous owner has fitted heavy duty springs on the rear. The effect is that there is practically no suspension at the rear under normal no load conditions. Its a very bumpy ride!. I eventually want to put parabolic springs and gas dampers on all four corners but at the moment funds do not permit this. Therefore, I was thinking about initially fitting parabolic springs and gas dampers to the rear only. I have been in contact with Chris Perfect and discussed fitting 3 leaf units with ES3000 gas shocks to the rear only. One problem will be that the new springs will raise the rear of the vehicle by approx. 2" whilst the front would remain as it is. However, new parabolic springs at the front would only increase the height by about 1". I would be very grateful for any words of advice. Is the idea of fitting the new springs to the rear only a good one or a bad one?
