Either way Bazzle's right. You've probably got a major problem. It sound like it could be a bearing failure. Knocking combined with a sudden loss of oil pressure is a classic symptom of a bearing failure. Waht is probably happening is that as long as the oil is cool and viscous, it is muffling the knocking. As it warms up and becomes less viscous the knocking becomes more apparent. I suspect that if you drain the oil you're going to find metal particles (bits of bearing) in it. If you persist in driving the engine in this state you WILL damage it further. Do not even start the engine. Have it towed to the repair shop.
