| lt77s gearbox replacement Posted by sebas on June 29, 2000 at 16:20:53: I own a '94/'93 (?) defender 110 200tdi which has some gearbox trouble. The layshaft alone costs 220 pounds replacing. I was offered a salvage lt77s gearbox (same model as my car) from a defender 90 at a reasonable price. My queston is, are the gearboxes interchangeable given the difference in the model (110 vs. 90)???? Do you have any suggestions as to what may result cheaper. Reparing the box I have now is complicated since it is already a Genuine Land Rover Exchange Unit and identifying the parts within it is quite dificult. I already ordered once and recieved incorrect parts. Thanks for your help.
