110 Raffle?

Posted by Prashanth on April 25, 1998 at 10:58:28:

I am wondering if it is possible and LEGAL to Raffle off my 110?
I need to sell as an alternative to purchase a home in Pricely So California.
However I have observed that the steep price for the 110 is the biggest culprit in the
slow progress in finding a deserving owner( as much as everyone and their uncle would like to own one!)
But everyone knows the economic principle Supplyu and Demand yadee yadee yadee.... you know the drill.

So, What if I sell tickets say $100.00 a piece and raffle off the 110 once I have reached my target price ($42500).
Or on a set date (if the price is reached rather quickly, I hope!) and any excess amount would go to a charity.
Of course why would someone believe me and send me $100? I agree, perhaps we could have a dealership or Bill Wood conduct the
Raffle. This would be an easy and lucky way to own one of the best vehicles in town.
I just want opinions and no nasty messages, as my intentions are NOT, I repeat NOT to scam people but to sell my 110.
This I think will be pretty cool especially for the one lucky winner. Of course anyone from my family or myself would be excluded.

If there are any organizations such as a Radio Station or Conservation groups you might want to purchase my 110 and raffle it off and use the proceed for
your cause. Please post suggestions on the board or email me. Again no nasty messages please!!!
