I bought a 91 Range Rover in December of 96 and its been running great ever since. The only problems I've experienced is a fog light which burned out and a fuse which blew. Both minor, and even the most un-mechanically inclined person could have fixed both of those. Range Rovers require dealer servicing every 7500 miles, so it's not too long a time frame in which much can go wrong. I also checked the vehicles entire service history on the LRNA computer network (if you're buying from a dealer they should do this for you), and the most serious problem it had before I got it was a wiper motor failure. Finally, I bought a GE deluxe warranty with my Rover which covers every major component for 2 years or 24,000 miles. Go with the rover, you won't be disappointed.
