Sir, Just read your letter and had to laugh, not at your expence, but it is so true. As a former BL/Land Rover & LRNA employee, and the owner of an independant LR shop since '81, I am fully aware of your headaches.
The hose failure is just one of those things, it happens, but for the car to leave the DLR with P/S fluid still dripping everywhere, greese on seats (not to mention damage), is something I would not stand for, either as a busines sowner, nor as a LR employee (Field Engineer). The DLR claim of "Elec Problems" is pure BS! Instead it's more like lazy DLR. No way would a car leave my shop in such condition, nor would allow it when employed by LR. Yes, the DLR should have at least checked the other hose, and replaced if ness. Your thoughts of "more Warranty work" may be true.
Most DLR's, regardless of make, aren't worth a damn. They hire ill-trained people who have no pride in workmanship. If you have further problems... change dealers, or call LRNA Customer Service.
