oilcooler for overdrive?

Posted by Carsten/OZ on March 01, 1998 at 15:30:48:

I've spoken to several LR owners and basically everyone agrees
that it's nice to have an overdrive, but that they a) get noisy
after a while and b) only last for about five years up here.
Apparently, the small amout of oil capacity combined with high
temperatures troughout the year leads to early bearing failure...
Thus, I'm considering to use a very good oil (Slick50) and the
thought of fitting an oil-cooler crossed my mind as well.
Has anyone got experience/ideas 'how to'? Do I need to fit a pump?
Where should I drill the holes for the pipe fittings in the casing?
