Hi,
Good news:
Consider seriously axles of 109 V8 (build 1979-1985): features:
* ratio 3.54:1
* front axle is exact fit (did you know that 1985 Series III standard axles fit as from Series I 1951, leaf spring mounting measures also exact, only difference: rear leaf springs shorter on 88 compared to 109; track width varied slightly over the years).
* front axle features constant velocity joints, heavy duty half shafts.
* rear axle is Salisbury, heavy duty diff (4 satellites) & half shafts; should fit exactly; little to worry about shearing half shafts.
* fitment of front & rear axle should require no changes, straight fit.
Bad/ less good news:
Required changes:
* rear propshaft to be shortened as Salisbury is larger house, this requires careful evaluation, once measure is established, then job to be carried out at propshaft specialist, costs in Holland are minor:
2 propshaft mods at 130,= DFl about 65$.
Bad news:
109 V8 axles are relatively rare species.
Success Cees Willig
