I had the same symptoms awhile back--mine is 92 RR Classic. The tank is plastic and the leak was a small crack about a quarter inch long right under the left foward vent attach on the top of the tank. Fill-ups caused leak and odor. Can you tell us more about your tank leak? MXOStock
