Hi,
How are you?
Anyway about the radio?
What type is it? Is it branded or a standard unit?
What kind of interferance is it? Does it get worse as you rev the engine? If so the problem is more than likely the supressor on the wire from you antena to the head unit.
Does the radio work ok when the engine is off and the vehicle is parked? If it does it is almost definately the supressor! Answer, either get your dealer or a car audio shop to fit a new one!! If its the antena itself a simple check would be to buy a cheap after market one, remove the head unit from the dash, carfully so as to not unplug anything`. Find the antena wire leaving the head unit, Usually a thick black coaxcial wire. trace it to the plug / soccet, usually near the head unit and plug in the new antena, position the new antena in a realistic position ( Hold it up at approximately the same hight as the standard one) and see if the reception has improved!!
However be aware that the more complex the system the more difficult this will be!! Specialist tools may be required to remove the head unit from the dash BE very carfull not to disturb any large looms or large sockets on the rear of the radio, unless it is obvious hoe they re connect. Make notes of conections etc.
If you still have a problem after trying all of this then may be the wire from the antena to the head unit has been damaged!!
If still no joy let me know exactly what the interference is like and any other relevant matters which may contribute. Also what system you have!!
Cheers
Rob
