I get kind of upset when I read this kind of "performance" tips, remove cats etc. The environmental benefit of the catalytic convertors and the lambda controlled injection is enormous in countries where legislation has forced this into the cars.
To remove this system just to gain a few extra HP's is slightly short sighted in my opinion.

I drive a Disco -96 with V8 as well, so I know that the engine is not the most fuel efficient and high output lump around. I'd like to see BMW's 4 liter V8 with approx. 280 HP and even more interesting the new 3 liter six cylinder or 4 liter V8 TDI engines to find their way into land rovers products.

Until then, lean back and enjoy the drive and let other's do the competing at stop lights. If you want to join, buy a motorcycle.
