G'day

The Genuine Series III book shows a four pin switch with only 3 pins used as follows

Pin 1 Two brown (N) wires - one to the battery via the solenoid input and one to the horn

Pin 2 Connected to pin 1 when ignition is ON - takes current to the ignition and the fuses which are supplied by the ignition circuit.

Pin 3 The starter wire. Connected to pin 1 when the starter is operated and operates the solenoid.

Armed with this knowledge you should be able to work out which wires are what on your switch. Some experimentation with a multimeter should let you know which connections do what. Chances are that the extra 2 connections are not needed in your vehicle.

You should be able to narrow the pins on the switch so you do not have to replace the connectors on the cables. this would be more reliable.

If I can help more, email me

Michael
