Series III Ignition Problem

Posted by James on December 20, 1999 at 18:16:33:

I recently bought a Series III that was been rebuilt in the UK with a lot of later Euro-Spec parts (5 main bearing engine, locking ignition switch, etc). I am the second owner since it was imported to the U.S. When it was rebuilt, the whole electrical system was patched together. I started rewiring it only to find that the locking ignition switch has 5 poles on the back and the one in the Haynes manual has 4. There were four wires on the old system, but one of them went nowhere. Also, where they were located doesn't match up with the same pole numbers according to the Haynes manual and two of the poles are too wide for the connectors that came on the wiring loom that I bought (I can replace the connectors easily enough, but need to know which to replace.

Does anyone out there have a wiring diagram that covers that particular ignition switch?
