My local diesel specialist told me that all the "city" diesel and low sulphur diesel has silicon put in as a lubricant as the sulphur is'nt there anymore.. He said this eventually leaves a glass type deposit on the injector disturbing the spray pattern and ruining the injector nossle.
he did add that this will probably not have a noticable effect for about 30k, at current levels of added silicon anyway.
