Stage 1 question Posted by Kent Shih on January 16, 1998 at 20:41:26: I just put a down payment on a nice '82 SIII Stage 1 109" SW, it has the original Rover 3.5L V8. My question is, why does this Petro V8 produce a mere 91bph (69kW)??? The NAS Defender 110's engine has just 400cc more than the Stage 1, yet it produces 180bph (134kW), twice the power! It is ironic that my 1982 Volvo 240, 2.5L 4 cylinder puts out more horsepower than the Stage 1 engine. Does any one know what keeps the Rover 3.5L V8 from putting out more power?? Any simple modification that I can do to improve its power? Your feedback is greatly appreciated! -Kent
