Recently, I agreed to a purchase of a 1974 Series III, 88, which is in very good condition located in Oregon. I've owned and restored several Classic Ford Broncos and IH Scouts but this is a first for a Land Rover. I've never even driven one before! For quite some time I had been pondering the idea of buying one. One day here in Texas, I saw a large 70s rover drive by (later I identified it as a 109) and decided I want one. I going to attempt to drive it back to Texas in the next few months and I guess I have confidence in it because the owner even offered to drive it nearly half way and said without any reservation it would make it in ease. One thing I have noticed on the net and talking to owners of the Series vehicles is that they really believe in them and are very honest in respect to the advantages and disadvantages of the vehicle. This is really a toy for me and I guess I just have alittle buyers angst. Thanks
