To explain the situation, I will discribe the parts of the oil dipstick : there is a threaded hole and an adapter that screws into the threaded hole with smaller threads on it. These smaller
threads are where the dipstick tube fit onto. The engine didn't come with a tube , so I borrowed one of another Landrover. The tube I borrowed
had the wrong sized threads.
Does anyone know what year of dipstick tube I need and do you have the remotest clue
what I'm talking about?
