Hi!

I fitted air compressor to my 300 tdi (Disco 97), It´s simple becouse you have so much space there and easy to build any kind of brackets.

You shouldn´t try to find something who will fitt. Just build a bracket for what you have and bolt it on the engine. To streatch the belt, you can use the original belttensioner for airconditioner, or build some tensioner and bolt it in stead of the original one (I did that becouse of the cost).

I used compressor from GM Surburban, Harrisons. It´s with magnetic coupling, then I can just power it by switch inside the car. Actually I have airtank and pressure-switch wich control when the compressure should start and stop, then I alwais have certain amount of air in the tank, but this isn´t necessery!

Lubrication is a the real problem, don´t try to lubricate it from any part of the engine. It´s many solutinos of this problem available, depend of the cost of course. I build self-lubrication-system, wich means, everytime the compressure start it sucks oil from a glass on the air-intake. The out-take goes thrue this glass so any(most of :) ) the oil stay in the system. I hope this help but for some more infos on similar lubrication system you can check this page : http://www.off-road.com/4x4web/faqs/aircompr.html

With this system it only takes few seconds to pump up eace tire (even if the air-tank is not connected) , and I also have opportunity to use air-powered worktools. I´m very happy with the results and think it´s much better than some electric-solution!
