Swirl chamber

Posted by John Jenkins on September 18, 1999 at 14:55:16:

I have built a IIa from a scrap IIa 69, bought a new 83 chassis and transfered the original number plate which I sold later. Now I purchased another scrap ex-farm III 2.25 deisel which I have completely stripped for engine and rear axil casing. Being my petrol engine was running at 16 mpg, and my rear axil casing developed a oil leak in the pan. Also I will be converting the 3 lights to the 2 mud guards. 1 problem, is the swirl chamber has a projection in the 2nd bore. Which way can I extract this if carbon has built up, to force this out. I would really like to clean the swirl chambers out. If this is not possible, I might have to skim the swirl chamber. It has caused a slight dip of 12 tho in the block. I would also like, if one was available, the original IIa grille. I still have the wire grille front.
