When they worked on the tranny, my guess is that they whanged on the exhaust to get it out of the way. This definitely could crack the exhaust manifold.

It sounds like you have a dealer from Hell. This needs to go farther up the line at LRNA than a customer care rep. You need to buck this up to the top because it is inexcusable. If you complain loudly enough to enough people at LRNA, you will get satisfaction.

LR prides itself on having good dealers. Unfortunately, they aren't living in the real world sometimes. There are some pretty crappy dealers out there. Don't let this rest, and don't stop until it is resolved to your satisfaction. From other people's experiences with LRNA, if you complain loudly enough, you will not only get the manifold replaced, but you may get a personal apology from the pres. of LRNA.

Rover knows that these kind of dealers hurt them, and I really can't believe that a customer care rep would leave you hanging like that. Don't back down on this one.
