call me superficial

Posted by jeff on December 06, 1997 at 13:43:45:

I've read a few slights (good spirited i'm sure) against those who drive Land Rovers but don't necessarily drive them off road. I'll fess up, I don't drive mine off road more than once a year, I'm not rugged and I don't wear flannel. I drive a Land Rover because it's among the most individual and coolest rides on the planet. It's hardly everything to me, and I'll admit "looking good" is superficial nonsense - but hey I'm only human. Land Rovers are safe - I have two daughters to tote around - and Land Rovers are fun. I've never had a single problem with my 96 Disco, put that together with the fact that my dealership (LandRover of Portland) treats me like a human being, and I don't think I'll ever drive anything else. (Unless of course Saab comes up with an entry in the SUV market!) Practicality is relative to how much you make, if you can afford it you can drive it, for whatever reason. (I can't believe i just made a post about my car.)
