I believe your thinking of the Defender??

The 200 TDi in the Defender was a different unit to the one put in the Discovery, due to space/mounting restrictions under the bonnet, the Defender 200 Tdi turbo was mounted higher..

The Defender had 107 BHP, Discovery 111 BHP.

With the 300 TDi, in the Defender with the new R380 g/box the engine was mounted 8" further forward, so the Defender and Discovery used the same 300 TDi unit.
Both with the same 111 BHP, the later 300 TDi autos had an electronic controlled engine with i think 134 BHP, to compensate for the auto box!!
