I didn't realize there was a factory fitted gps now....Kind of makes sense. Its just a GPS, not a full onbopard navigation system right?
I'm almost certain that they would use a model of gps you can get elsewhere. Probably a lot ;ess expensive through a boating supply place, they seem to have the best GPS prices.
Even if you have to buy it from LR dealer it should still be mountable in other vehicles.
Chances are you can find a better unit than LR is using at a lower price. I would go with a portable GPS, with a bracket, power cable and extrenal antenae. I sell power cables and data cable parts for Garmin GPS units Everyone I've talked to who owns a Garmin GPSIII loves it. It gives you 12 channel reception, teh rotatable screen, antenae which can be mounted externally, or better yet replaced with an amplified antenae, and it has a map of highways and major roads in the US. All garmin and most others can be linked into your home pc for transfering data, or a laptop in teh vehicle for data, and tracking on map programs.
Get the amplified antenae made by LOWE.
