I'm not a Disco owner( '61 SII 88") but here are a few ideas: There has to be some sort of drive mech. either gears or belt or a combination thereof. You have to decide if the motor stops working(if this is the case, are you going though fuses? When the motor stops is ther still power at the motor connection? Or if the motor still keeps running but the window just stops, in which case you would suspect the drive system.
I was wondering, if before you changed the switch, did the window work at all?
