Based upon the consistent feedback that older messages can be as valuable as newer ones, I won't delete any messages which are currently available. I may move the older messages to a separate archiving server. If I do this, it will require running two different search requests: one for current year (give or take) messages and one for older messages. I'm not sure yet whether I'll be able to consolidate such a combined search request into a single command. Downside could be the need for two separate search request commands. Upside would be (1) everything would still be accessible and (2) regular (current only) searches would be shorter. |
