Hi
Your Land Rover sounds like a very desirable late Series IIa Station Wagon - sometimes called Safaris. Are its lights in the mudguards or in the centre. Some of the very last IIa vehicles had the lights in the guards and the narrow (about 2.5 inches) sill panel.
Is it Cream or Grey? Usually the Cream ones are 6 cylinder and the Grey are 4 cylinder.
Is the gearbox all synchro, or crash box on first and second? The all synchro are series III.

Hope some of this helps. Get in touch for more info at my site.

Enjoy your majestic beast.

Michael

PS The roof is called a Tropical Roof and is standard on all Station Wagons. Keeps the sun out. The little high windows are "Alpine Lights" but we call them "giraffe viewing windows".
