Hello Charlie,

Great to read your response to my comment. You are completely correct in pointing out the LR have problems, however, they also possess many other characterisitics that I believe are more important.

Living in Japan, I have a better appreciation on why the Japanese vehicles are like they are - durable, electronic gizzmos, and lacking in the "soul" department.

The Toyota Land Crusher probably is the best comparison for a LR RR. The article by I think Automobile mag summed it up nicely - the Toy was machine like which is how most things are approached here. That is why I personally like the LR because like the owners, each has some flaws that add character and soul. It is not like driving a vehicle that resembles the robots used to manufacture it. This not to say that LR could maybe beef up their QC department which needs to be accomplished and hopefully the bimmer people will.

There are many choices out there and it all boils down to what the customer wants. LR has its niche and concept, Toyota et all have theirs. I am just glad there is a choice and each has its own identity.

Regards,

Jim Thompson
