If you think it's belt slippage, buy an aerosol can of Belt Dressing, I suspect your from US in which case you will no doubt find a can in the equivalent of a UK "Halfords". Works on Vee or Wedge or ribbed belts, stops damage, prolongs belt life, stops squeeling and gives belt better grip. I use it all the time after off-roading when engine washed off apply dressing. Usually applied with belts rotating but can be dangerous with fans rotating. I usually apply dressing and then quickly start engine. About 5 UK Pounds per can.
