One more reply.... I have to take issue with a number of comments here. 1. LR owners aren't the only ones with expensive trucks -- have you priced an Expedition, Suburban, or Land Cruiser recently? I have seen brandnew Suburbans on the trail, too. These things are only machines, and designed to be used. In several years of off roading, I've seen more damaged vehicles from driving Phoenix streets than the trails. And dealer costs! Tried getting your Ford fixed lately? I wouldn't advise it. I have a friend that will never buy another GM product because of miserable service. In Phoenix, we have 2 LR dealers, both owned by the same person. Buying my 94 Disco was the most pleasureable experience I have ever had, and I have bought a lot of cars. The LR warranty service is the best I've ever seen. Anything even remotely not right was taken care of , cheerfully. It is true that I have had every seal in the drivetrain replaced (under warranty) ,some twice. Machines aren't perfect; what can I say? But to drive 2 hours on the highway, spend 9 hours off road traveling 17 miles, then 2 hours back home, and STILL not tired or sore ... There aren't very many stock trucks that could begin to do that. I'm about to exchange my '94 Disco for a '96. Sign me-- one satisfied Rover owner!
