Just how deep do you want to wade? For that depth you are looking a real special stuff my man. Go Diesel or buy a military motor complete. It will have waterproof leads and a different distributor that might make it easier to water proof. Series 3 and up will have PCV with sealed vents on the motor plumbed into the intake. For the tranny, fabricate a special vent cover and run it up high, also do the diffs, and spray the electrics in the dash.

When you finish wading, take apart the starter and dry it. Drain the tranny, T case, diffs, and hubs. Check the motor oil too as you might want to drain it. Pull apart the brakes and check for mud and debris.

It's far easier to just keep it to 2 foot depth in stock form or that plus what ever else you add to height with taller springs and tires. I've been through 34" without issue, but that was by being on good ground and keeping moving so the water level under the hood (behind the bow wave)was low enough to not damage anything. Still had to drain one diff.
