Trouble with 24V Dutch Army LW LR88/1981

Posted by Tamás F Molnar on December 10, 2006 at 03:09:04:

Being new kid in the block of LW LR owners I am asking for advice on where/how to get/obtain a proper circuit diagram of my ex-Dutch Army (24V) Lightweight LR (Diesel) aka Sir Gawaine? Living in Hungary ( Central Europe) it is not easy to find duch information, but hope its not impossible. I understand, that the Dutch Export ( Radio) is a peculiar model - all this 24V electricity make the things more complicated. So if anybody would have a copy of the 20fuses system 24V circuit diagram ( or just drop a line where to buy it) would make my life easier. The same refers to the electrics of the heater (as Sir Gawaine lives on Diesel) and to the instrument panel(unit) and voltage stabilisator ( regulator) and the 24V generator.

Aletrnatively, what would be the advice of the more experienced: does it make a sense to convert the whole car to 12 Volts? If yes, what are the main points ( weakest points, actually, where I can make silly things) to pay attention?

Thanks very much for the attention - and the help
