| Replacement Gearbox Posted by Mark Smith on December 02, 2006 at 11:15:14: Hi Guys. I am hoping that somebody out there has gone down this road and can offer me some advice. I have a TD5 Disco with 250 000km on the clock which has worked hard. She is starting to use oil and I am thinking of pulling the motor and replacing it, either with another TD5 or a V8. Either way, I need to know if anybody knows of a gearbox that I can install that will actually last. The first on went at 150 000km and I would like to find a box that is a bit more robust for towing work. Anybody have any advice regarding changing engine and gearbox? Comments and advise welcome.
