I am committed to driving 11 members of my family (extended) across mainland Europe to Italy for Christmas in my Private Defender 110 CSW which is equipped with 12 seats. According to VOSA (I'm not sure they really know) I am required to install and use a tachograph. However, the British have rightly sought a local variation to the EC regulations and this is not required in the UK unless the vehicle has 17 seats.

Has anybody out there resolved this issue. Hearsay will be useful but I'm hoping for a definitive answer from a, previously bemused, individual who's been through similar pain.

Of course there's a pint or two in it!
