Importing a "Rebuilt" Series III

Hi,
Writing from USA. First time posting. I have wanted a series land rover for a long time. I started looking a couple years ago and got scared off on all the forums (reliability etc...) and bought a great classic Land Cruiser that I have been using as my daily driver. Anyway, I haven't cured my Land Rover bug so I am thinking about buying a Rover again. It seems like the best way to go if you can is to import a rebuilt one from a place like Liveridge or LandRoverCentre. Anyone have any experience with these? What is ownership like? Is it better to put that money towards a solid Defender? Thanks!
